More people are struggling in Birmingham.
With the rising cost to all households, many are struggling to pay bills.
Our response as a church was to open a local pantry as a preventative approach to food poverty, reducing the risk of household hunger
The local pantry opened in June 2022.
Our Pantry is:
Our Pantry stocks an abundant and wide range of top-quality food including fresh fruit & veg, frozen and chilled food, meat and dairy products, and long-life tinned and packaged food.
Our members pay a small subscription of £5.00 PW and in return, they can choose groceries worth many times more, often saving up to £1,000 a year on shopping bills.
Our pantry is like just like any other shop, in that you choose the food you want from the shelves.
The pantry is run by uniformed staff and volunteers who manage the stores with hand-held technology.
Our pantry has a cherished role as a neighbourhood hub and is a springboard to other initiatives and ideas, such as cookery classes, langiage classes volunteering opportunities, and training.
